A Young Maiden's Daybook - Week 3

Interested in participating? Sign up at Miss Alexandra's blog!

Today…
January 126th, 2009

Outside my window…
there are black skies, Active Boy's helmet on the porch.

I am thinking…
about what I'd like to do this evening. I think I'll be getting into bed early. I don't feel too great!

I am thankful for…
ice cream. I woke up with a sore throat this morning, and a couple scoops of Peanut Butter Perfection was soothing!

I am wearing…
a purple turtleneck, black broomstick skirt and my cozy cozy navy blue slippers.

I am reading…
Numbers, Psalms and The Star Fisher by Laurence Yep. A great book about a Chinese-American family trying to start a new business and new life in a small, narrow-minded town.

I am creating…
still, an embroidered pillowcase for my hope chest.

One of my favorite things…
seeing a letter just for me in the mail-box, waiting to be opened.

For education this week...
well, many things, but my most favorite - a quilting class coming up this Wednesday! I'm really excited. :)

A keeper at home skill I am using/learning…
embroidery. Those French Knots are giving me a bad time!

A spiritual lesson I’m learning…
submission.

A godly character trait I plan to work on...
patience.

Scripture I am memorizing…
John 15: 11-12

I am praying for…

my future husband.

For the rest of the week…

I'll be doing school, one or two aerobics classes at the gym (Mother Dear and I are going as guests!), the quilting class and a Nutrition/Exercise unit for preschool.

A picture I’d like to share… Sissy-Sissy-Sue-Sue all dressed up!

Enjoy your week!

I really enjoy reading these. I like to hear your point of view on life, the day and how you are feeling.

I love you.

Hi Serenity! I am still working on submission, too! It's so easy when your parents make decisions that you go along with, but oh so hard to quietly submit to them when you don't agree! =;) I'm working on patience also.

Please be sure to post pictures of the finished pillow case! I bet it will be so beautiful! I was trying to learn some embroidery last year, but I found I needed one of those scroll bars where you can roll up the fabric. My stitches were getting stretched from not having the right hoop and if I used a smaller one, my stitches would get flattened.

Blessings!
Rachel

I'm very sorry to hear you're not feeling well :(
Do you think you have a cold?
I hope you feel better really soon.
I know ice cream is really nice on sore throats :)
Cute picture of your sister... all ready to play in the snow?!
Hope you have a great week.

Alexandra- Ugh. Yes. I have definetly got a bad case of the cold. Even this morning (Thursday) I woke up with my throat on fire and a runny nose. Plus, since I've got asthma and am very prone to get pnemonia, I've got to keep up on breathing treatments with my Nebulizer to keep me breathing, and to help fight against any pnemonia that wants to sneak it's way in! I'm hoping to be better by Sunday, as I've got a swimming date with Mom and Active Boy, and I certainly can't go sick!

Thanks, ladies, for all the compliments on MIT #2! No, she wasn't going out in the snow, just dressing up in various garb. It's something she does practicly every day. :)

She's so sweet. :)
Oh, I didn't know you had asthma. :( Now I understand what you meant when you said the aerobic exercise was helping with your breathing. I hope you throat gets better! Mine has been sore off and on this past month too.
How did your quilting class go?
