Cake Decorating

One of my most loved interests is cake decorating. I have had a really nice time in the classes I've taken this last year learning to make crisp looking and delicately embellished cakes. I've enjoyed learning how to make a multitude of different flowers, use rolled fondant, decorate with different boarders, mix icing to the right consistency and choose colors to bring out the best look of the cake.

I was thrilled to make my first wedding cake this year, but it certainly challenged my skills and abilities. I learned to deal with unexpected problems, use creativity, and make each and every detail uniform. The end result turned out fabulously! The bride was amazed, which made me happy.

What are your favorite creative outlets? Please, won't you leave a comment and let me know?
Love,
Miss Serenity

Wow, Serenity! You are an amazing cake decorator! I enjoyed taking the first phase of the Wilton classes, but I don't think I am very good. I got frustrated easily. Congratulations on your new blog! We look forward to reading more from you! :)

Hello Miss Serenity,
I found your blog because you linked to me and my sister. It's a pleasure to meet you.

Your cakes are absolutely beautiful! You certain have an eye for beauty and detail. Do you have a business you do this for or just for fun?

Blessings!

Thanks, everyone! I'm not the best at being creative (I'm more of a "follow the directions" type), but cake decorating is one thing that starts to get my creative juices flowing. :)

Miss Jocelyn - I cake decorate just for fun, although I was paid to do the wedding cake. That would be something to think about, though!

Hi Serenity! I love cake decorating! I have only taken one class (for fondant) but I loved it! I am self taught. I did have a cake decorating business for a few years so if you ever have any questions you wish to ask about it let me know! =:)

Your cakes look lovely! I have never done a wedding cake (I am not brave enough yet to do one!) although I was asked a few times to do one.

Blessings!
Rachel
