Question? I see down at the bottom of this page a small add for "maidens for modesty." Its a pic of two young ladies with nice long hair much like your own. How do you defend hair down to your waist as "modest?" I don't believe any people group through out history has ever held long untied hair to be a statement of modesty. I find the whole thing strikingly odd.

Uncle Tim-

Well, from what I've gathered from their post about choosing that particular picture, they had it taken in regards to the way they dress, not the long hair. They also mentioned that the only reason why it showed the ladies with long hair was because they both happened to have long hair (the photo was taken of themselves).

Interesting thoughts. I'll really have to think about what you've said. You know, it's interesting you say that because there has been a lot of talk on many different blogs about "hair modesty", as to wearing your hair up, as well as to wearing a covering over it.

Personally, my thoughts on that are whatever your father or husband thinks is or isn't modest, you should or should not be wearing (or doing) it. I've noticed that a lot of girls who are trying to be modest, are getting caught up in pretty much making it their duty to decide what is and isn't modest for themselves, and for others. Like I said, I think it should be left up to each father and husband to decide for their wives and daughters.

Well, that's just my opinion. Hope I've answered your question well enough! If you like, you could go to their blog (the add is linked to it) and ask there too. I've seen lots of questions pointed towards the way they dress and view things, and they all have been plainly and nicely answered.

Thanks for the thought-provoking comment!

Thanks Ren. My opinion as the uncle. I think on a Torah level, on an apostolic level there should be some moderation. Here is a great link pass it on to your friends. http://www.tznius.com/cgi-bin/tying.pl

How do you get the 'post categories' thing on your sidebar?
