10 More Things All About Me!

1. When I was about seven or eight, I had "days of the week" panties that I loved. I was always one who loved matching, so of course wearing my panties that said "Monday" with a pink sparkly cupcake underneath on Monday seemed perfect.

2. One time when I was about three I was standing on our deck off our apartment. I remember looking down at a boy who was pointing a gun at me, and really freaking out. A few years later I
learned from my mom that it was a water gun. :)

3. I enjoy sending my friends packages for birthdays and holidays. My favorite part? Decorating! Cute wrapping paper, paper stripes, sparkles, stickers, marker polka dots, swirls, stars and vines have all been on one package or another.

4. I do not like it when someone comes up behind me and scares me. Lately Creative Genius has been hiding behind and popping out of things at the moments when I least expect it, letting out a banshee scream. So, if you were worried about all those piercing screams coming from our house in twos, don't worry. It's only him, then me. :)

5. I love Taco Bell's chalupas.

6. Since we only eat kosher meat, I have a mental list of the food places I want to go when I one day go to Israel where practically everything is kosher. My number one food? A spicy chicken sandwich from Jack in the Box.

7. I hate cleaning out the fridge.

8. MIT #2 and I have the same middle name, practically. Mine is Elissa, which is derived from Elizabeth. Her's is Elishava, which is Elizabeth in Hebrew. They both mean "God's oath".

9. I love the rain. There is just something about being in your warm and cozy house while it is dark and wet outside.

10. When I was little, I loved playing dress up!

If you would like to share ten things about yourself, please do so! Write a post on your blog with them, then copy and past the URL code for it in the bottom space, with your name on top. We'd all love to learn more about you!

15 Things About Me... #1

I have been tagged for sharing fifty things about me. While I could probably spout off that many in an hour or so, eventually things would get pretty boring. So, I've decided to do my fifty in chunks. Feel free to join me!

1. While I hate writing reports, stories, reviews or anything of the sort, they haven't bugged me near as much since I started blogging.

2. I went to a Christian school from kindergarten through fourth grade. Ever since, I've been home schooled.

3. I love pink! My coat is pink, my nails are currently painted pink, even my bedroom is painted the color.

4. My favorite books to read are mysteries.

5. I have read nearly every single book in the Boxcar Children series, due to the fact that it was my first chapter book series I started reading in second grade (Mrs. Dejong let me borrow the books from the third and fourth grade room, such a treat).

6. I have sang in Hebrew at a few talent shows before.

7. I have two grandmas, one grandpa (not counting the greats :), four aunts, two uncles and twelve cousins.

8. I like to keep my shoes in tip-top shape. I have one pair of grungy tennis shoes, but the rest have been baby-wiped an innumerable amount of times.

9. The ladies in the house, due to my dad's request, have been skirts/dresses only since I was twelve.

10. We have a little homemade burgundy sign held up by cream ribbon on our office door that says "Happiness is Homemade".

11. I have four pen-pals.

12. I love Butterfinger Mcflurrys at McDonalds. Last Sunday, Mom and I went there to have some fifty cent ice-cream cones, and to find some free papers, so you could imagine my delight when Mom came to our table bearing two Butterfinger Mcflurrys. Apparently the girl didn't really know what she was doing, and for some reason she couldn't serve us the cones, so she gave us the Mcflurrys instead at the same price. Score!!!

13. I'm not very fond of wearing purple. While I do have a few shirts and skirts in the color, I don't wear them much because I don't think that they're one of "my colors". I look the best in fall colors.

14. One time while cleaning up our table after dinner at a retreat, I noticed someone hadn't drunken all of their milk. I was sort of embarrassed to give the people the half-full cup for them to dump down the drain, so I decided to drink it myself. Well, I took one big gulp and discovered why that person hadn't drunken it. The milk was filled - and I mean filled - with salt. Must have been one of the little kids. I have never been able to comfortably drink milk since.

15. I have been blogging since July 20, 2007.

Before and After

For the past few days, I have been working on finishing up a project that has long been sitting in our sunroom, waiting to be finished. We've had the kiddie sized picnic table for a while now, and it badly needed a sanding and new coat of paint. So, Active Boy stripped the paint off, sanded it and primed the picnic table. Then, I, with all my knowledge of painting things (I had actually never painted anything in my life - except paper - before this) came in and gave it a color coat. Now, teal is not my most favorite color in the world, but it was either that or sea-foam green, or the two colors of our living room: dark rose or light, soft tan (isn't it nice to go shopping in the basement?)

All in all, I think the table turned out pretty good! It will be nice to have on the deck this summer, so the kidlets can dine outdoors. :)

Ok, ok. So I don't have a before picture. BUT you might! Do you have any projects you've done recently that you'd like to share? I'd love to see them! Just sign yourself up on the Mister Linky here, making sure you link to your Before and After post (not your blog homepage).

Ahhh...Baby Names!

Anyone interested in sharing ten of their favorite names with the bloggy world? Today I was inspired by Jasmine's post about up-and-coming popular names, to start up a little meme for all of us who could easily count off fifty names we love, which we hope our future (or for some of you, current) husbands might agree too. :) Here's mine, although not necessarily in order:

My Top Ten Favorite Baby Names

1. Evangeline Jubilee (my absolute favorite!!)
2. Abigail
3. Macie
4. Elishava (one of my sister's middle names :)
5. Mae Amelia
6. Eliana
7. Judah Benjamin
8. Will (I can just imagine a cute, skinny little boy named that :)
9. David
10. Asher

I (and many other people, I'm sure) would love to see your Top Ten Favorite Baby Names! Won't you blog about them, then add yourself to Mister Linky over here? Also, as you can see, I've created an image to go with this post, so if you'd like you can add it to your post or sidebar. Now, I'm absolutely clueless as on how to write HTML code, so if you could just copy the picture, and make it link back to this post, I'd greatly appreciate it. :)
*A little post update:* Just for fun, if you'd like to see the top ten names for 2007, the Social Security Administration has a list up for both boys and girls. The number one names? For boys, Jacob, and for girls, Emily.
